Lot 265 - 2009 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir - The wine has a
beautiful nose of cinnamon spice and black raspberry with hints of
olive making for a very complex aromatic experience. The wine is
very linear across the palate with dynamite structure almost
Burgundian in its elegance with flavors of blackberry, plum, and
spicy cola. Stylistically, this wine has broad appeal valuing
structure, elegance and complexity over ripeness and impact, simply
delicious.
Lot 278 - 2009 Spring Mountain Meritage - Pure mountain-style
fruit, chewy with a cool-climate sensibility. Sweet black cherry
and currant fruit are contrasted with silken tannins and a lovely
savory mid-palate. Between its old-world acidity and deep
complexity, this wine shows what is really great about
high-elevation Napa Cab.
Lot 292 - 2010 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah - Inky purple in color
with aromas of blackberries and exotic spice. This wine shows great
acidity and complexity. Huge structure with crushed plum and molten
licorice all beautifully integrated into a 45 second finish.
