Lot 252 - 2009 North
Coast Petite Sirah - Big, dark, and rich with black fruits and
terrific structure. Notes of mint, blackberry, and blueberry
essence radiate throughout this bold wine. Deep, dark fruit is
supported by a bold tannic structure and balanced acidity. With
incredible color and depth, this wine is a top quality Petite
Sirah.
Lot 263 - 2002 Gran
Reserva Ribera Del Duero Tempranillo - Time has served our Lot
263 2002 Ribera Del Duero Gran Reserva well revealing an incredible
nose of cedar, graphite, licorice, black pepper and sweet cigar
smoke. It has incredibly pure plum fruit and a silken opulent
texture paired with a powerful structure built for aging - this
wine will go another 20 years easy. Fruit and earth meld here
seamlessly and you can actually smell the minerality that runs the
length of this wine.
Lot 275 - 2010
Mendoza Argentina Malbec Reserva - Deep purple, almost black in
color with a beautiful violet edge. Ripe cherry and plum on the
nose. Full bodied, dark fruit balanced with a kiss of oak make for
a bold, balanced Malbec. As some Malbecs tend to fall flat and
flabby, this wine presents great acid and fine-grained tannins for
a great mid-palate maintaining a long and luscious finish.
Lot 278 - 2009
Spring Mountain Meritage - Pure mountain-style fruit, chewy
with a cool-climate sensibility. Sweet black cherry and currant
fruit are contrasted with silken tannins and a lovely savory
mid-palate. Between its old-world acidity and deep complexity, this
wine shows what is really great about high-elevation Napa Cab.
Lot 288 - 2010 Clear
Lake Sauvignon Blanc - Beautiful scents of lemon grass, sweet
grapefruit and juicy melons. This delicious fruit component is
balanced with crisp acidity and complimented by an enticing
minerality. Medium-bodied, fresh and delightful, this wine can be
enjoyed over the next several years bit shows itself off splendidly
now.
Lot 311 2011 Sori Moscato d'Asti (Piedmont, Italy) -
Bright and fresh with beautiful aromas of honeysuckle blossoms and
white peach. Delicately sweet and lightly frizzante, this wine is
playful and aromatic across the palate, making it a terrific
aperitif or great just on its own. With some well balanced residual
sugar and its notable spritz, the finish is impeccably clean and
refreshing. In fact, this perfectly balanced Moscato is quite a
pleasure after encountering some of the dark, syrupy Moscatos that
do damage to a good, crisp Moscato's reputation.
