<br />In this Olympic year, we thought it only fitting to have a sampler of some of our most award winning wines! Enjoy a decorated Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a GSM (Grenacha-Syrah-Mourvedre) from Spain. Congratulations-you deserve it!<br /><br /><a href="http://store.chwine.com/Product170">Lot 98 2007 Campo de Borja GSM</a>. Incredible and immediately identifiable nose "this wine is from Spain!" Intense, vibrant purple color. Spicy nose with dark, plummy notes and dusty black pepper. On the palate, this wine is rich with blackberry compote, racy cherry fruit, and noticeable black pepper. A solid block of tannins backs up this wine, but they are well integrated with the long, spicy finish. It doesn't take a lot, but a little air loosens this wine up. No doubt, it will continue to improve in the bottle.<br /><br /><a href="http://store.chwine.com/Product173">Lot 100 2006 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon</a>. Classically beautiful notes of cassis, raspberry, and blackberry in an intense nose that are echoed on the palate. Beautifully integrated oak and chewy fine tannins mingle with the aforementioned fruit flavors to create a rich and powerful cuvee. Structurally dense, this wine benefits from an hour or so in the decanter and has excellent aging potential.<br /><br /><a href="http://store.chwine.com/Product221">Lot 112 2005 Napa County Merlot</a>. Dark, almost blackened crimson color. Aromas of cherry, spice, and chocolate spring from the glass, underpinned by bright fruit notes of strawberries and plums. A supple, rich mouthfeel coupled with well-integrated oak presents a complex-yet-smooth Merlot, perfect for that wintertime cocktail party.<br /><br /><a href="http://store.chwine.com/Product211">Lot 124 2007 Los Carneros Chardonnay.</a> A limited offering of truly exceptional Chardonnay. The yield from these vineyards is limited by the lack of water and the cool, extended growing cycle that adds hangtime (creating exceptional fruit and acid) while limiting fruit set due to the cool weather. Amazingly rich, silky flavors of ripe apple and honeysuckle melt with spicy new oak and butter on the mid-palate to form a wine with dramatic weight and enough acid on the finish to complement food nicely. <br /></p>
