Cam's Picks Sampler - Free Shipping!!!
In an effort to make Marcelo's life difficult (our shipping
coordinator), I have opted to create my own sampler of my favorite current and
past releases. This is a mish-mash of wines that are either
our best or exceptional values. Mostly, the list is comprised or red wines as
less of you opt to buy whites online. To be honest, it was hard to whittle down
the list but here goes - one bottle of each of the following will be shipped
for free to your door...
One bottle each of:
Lot 49 2004 Priorat - this glorious blend continues to wow
our more daring customers with most folks on cellartracker.com rating it well
over 90 points http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=487411
Lot 82 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet - a classic Napa Valley Cabernet from a classic Napa Valley producer. I had originally thought this was mostly Rutherford fruit (I bought the wine from a guy who got it from a guy and he wasn't saying who that guy was) but I have since learned it is form a particular vineyard in Calistoga. Has come around beautifully in the bottle since its release last year.
Lot 92 2004 Margaret River Chardonnay - probably our best chardonnay release to date (watch out though for our soon to be released Lot 133 Napa Valley Chard) with four years in the bottle and it continues to improve.
Lot 100 2006 Stags Leap Cabernet - Stags Leap Cab, 90 points, 20 bucks, 'nuff said.
Lot 104 2006 Stellenbosch Meritage - our best South African wine to date.
Lot 107 2005 Napa County Meritage - fantastic Cab Franc-based blend and a great value to boot.
Lot 121 2006 Spring Mountain Cabernet - Spring Mountain Cabernet, 90 points, $20 bucks and we are almost out. 'Nuff said.
Lot 125 2007 Carneros Pinot Noir - big brother to Lot 110, made in a rich, beautifully oaked style. Classic Carneros Pinot.
Lot 128 2007 Campo de Borja Garnacha and Lot 129 2007 Campo de Borja Garnacha - I
included both of these wines because they are the same wine, just raised in
different French oak barrels and, as such, are an interesting illustration of
the effect of oak on wine.
Lot 135 Central Coast Syrah - this blend of Edna Valley and Paso Robles syrah is made by one of California's top syrah producers fro m some of the best vineyards on the Central Coast. We don't like the appellation Central Coast but we simply thought the wines performed better together. Delicious wine.
And finally...2005 Hughes-Wellman Cabernet - this wine just
gets better and better in the bottle and drinks in the low 90s right now in my
opinion. We have less than 20 cases left so try a bottle and grab what's left.
